Cash refund = The cash refund feature is when a member receives annuity for life, and at member’s death, the beneficiary gets the total used in computing the annuity minus the annuity paid to member. IC 5-10.2-4-7(b)(4)
Minimum Death Benefit = The minimum death benefit is a type of refund feature in which if a member dies, or member and all survivors die, while receiving or eligible to receive benefits, designated beneficiary or estate gets the total at retirement or death minus all benefits paid to member and survivors. IC 5-10.2-3-9
