Employers with employees in the TRF My Choice plan pay the mandatory 3 percent contribution and a variable percentage set annually by the INPRS Board of Trustees. A portion of that contribution will go into the employee's DC account.
The current variable rate is 6.0 percent and will remain at 6.0 percent through June 30, 2024.
In 2025, the approved employer contribution rate of 6.5% for the TRF My Choice plan is effective Jan. 1, 2025, through Dec. 31, 2025. This new rate will be applied to all payroll dates after Jan. 1, 2025. For TRF My Choice the normal cost will remain at 6.0% and the supplemental cost will be 0.5%.
