The CDBA is an investment option available to members of the Legislators' Defined Contribution Plan.
Prior to 1997, PERF was not allowed to invest in equities. When that changed, the Consolidated Retirement Investment Funds, or CRIF, were created. CRIF allows all the retirement plans administered by the INPRS Board of Trustees to participate and share in the returns of equity investment. CRIF investments include all asset classes employed by the INPRS board in the management of the retirement portfolio. CRIF is now known as the Consolidated Defined Benefit Assets (CDBA).
